Please read this weekly update for important information for the 2026 summer swim season.

SWIM TEAM MEETS

Our final dual meet of the season will take place this TUESDAY, JULY 21st at Arlington Park (4630 W. Arlington Park Blvd. 46835). Please let us know immediately if you or your swimmer(s) have any questions or changes to availability. Coach Sophie will be sending more information regarding this meet in a separate email. 

CITY SWIM MEET

This is your final chance to RSVP for the City Swim Meet - deadline is Tuesday, July 21st. We are really hoping for a great SYC turnout this year. The City Swim Meet results from the prior year determine how the teams are split into leagues for the next summer. We would love to have a City Swim Meet commitment from as many of our swimmers as possible! We know it is close to the start of school, but this is a really great team experience for our swimmers and families. The City Swim Meet is fun, exciting, and gives your swimmers a chance to show off how hard they’ve been working all summer long!

2026 City Swim Meet Pre-Sale Weekend Pass:

Swim families can purchase a weekend wristband pass for $10 per adult. This pass will get one person into all sessions of the 2026 Fort Wayne City Swim Meet at Helen P. Brown Natatorium. This pass is only available by pre-sale and will not be available to purchase at the meet. Families who choose not to order weekend passes can still pay at the door. The price is $5 per session. Children 18 and under are free. If you are interested in purchasing a pass, please see a coach or board member at swim practice or a swim meet by Friday, July 24th. Please fill out the attached order form and include cash or check (made out to Sycamore Hills Swim Team).

Post-City SYC Family Pool Party:

After a fun-filled weekend of the City Swim Meet, please plan for the whole family to join us back at the Sycamore pool from 6:00-9:00pm. We will have snacks, collect meet awards, and close out the summer swim season with a bang! Please RSVP (through SwimTopia) so that we can accurately plan for this fun event.

PREP TEAM MEETS

This is the final week of the season for our prep swimmers!

Prep City is an invite-only meet for our most advanced prep swimmers. It will take place at Poco Pool tomorrow, July 20th. Swimmers invited to this meet have already been contacted by our co-head prep coaches, Naomi and Justin. If your swimmer was not asked to attend the Prep City meet, we will still have regular prep practice at Sycamore.

Prep swimmers will continue to have practice everyday this week, until Friday, July 24th. This week is “Spirit Week” for our prep swimmers only, which will include fun crafts, activities, and games during our last week of prep practice. Please see the attached information for details regarding daily themes and activities!

BANQUET

Please mark your calendars to join us for our banquet on Thursday, July 30th. All SYC swimmers and their families (both Big Team and Prep Team) are encouraged to attend! Dinner will be provided and swimmers will receive a sweet treat. Awards will be given to each swimmer and a fun time is sure to be had by all! In order for us to accurately plan, please RSVP your family (through SwimTopia) by Sunday, July 26th.

SWIMMERS OF THE WEEK

This week we’re proud to recognize Theo Marcuccilli, Joey Gardner, Reece Ruble, and Kaelyn Godfrey for their hard work, dedication, and positive attitudes! They have all shown great improvement in practice and meets. Whether it’s mastering a new stroke technique, beating a personal best, or supporting teammates, these swimmers exemplify the true spirit of our team. Keep up the good work! #GoSYC

SPIRIT WEAR

We have just a couple of our red SYC duck trucker hats still available. If you would like to order a hat for $20, please respond to this email or ask a board member at practice. Swimmers and family members, you should start thinking now about your "Duck Duck Swim" spirit wear plans for the City Swim Meet. We plan to go all out!

VOLUNTEERS

As you know, there are volunteer opportunities at each of our swim meets - home and away! Please continue to check SwimTopia, as positions sometimes open back up as plans change.
