Here are some important reminders for the 2026 summer swim season.

SWIMMERS OF THE WEEK

This week we’re proud to recognize Philip Terzo (black group), Ellen Li (white group), Vivian Mack (white group), Cece Groves (red group), and Grayson Bucher (red group) for their hard work, dedication, and positive attitudes! They have all shown great improvement in practice and meets. Whether it’s mastering a new stroke technique, beating a personal best, or supporting teammates, these swimmers exemplify the true spirit of our team. Special shout out to Philip for breaking the SYC breaststroke record for 11-12 boys this week in the meet against PVCC! Keep up the good work, swimmers! #GoSYC

SWIM TEAM MEETS

Congrats to our 10 and unders who participated in the Leigh Ann Palmer meet this past Saturday! We are so proud of all of you! SYC girls placed 2nd, boys placed 7th, and SYC placed 5th overall.

As a reminder, please RSVP for all swim meets as soon as possible. If you haven’t RSVPd, yet, the Poco meet RSVPs will be open until TONIGHT at 11:30pm.We will swim at Poco this Thursday, June 25th.

The Pete Johnston meet is this coming Saturday, June 27th. RSVPs are closed, but westill need volunteers. Please check the volunteer sign up slots - thank you in advance! https://sycaquatics.swimtopia.com/swim_meets

We had several last minute (day before/day of) scratches before our meet this past Thursday. Please remember to update your RSVPs prior to entries closing because these last minute scratches affect not only your individual swimmer, but they often affect relays, as well. Communication is key for our team and coaches!

PREP TEAM MEETS

The first prep team meet is at HOME this Wednesday, June 24th at 10:00am. Prep team members, you should have received a detailed email this evening from our co-head prep coaches, Naomi and Justin. Please let us know if you have any questions!

SPIRIT WEAR

We have had several inquiries about our red SYC duck trucker hats since the first order arrived last week. We have ordered additional hats that will arrive this Thursday. If you would like to pre-order a hat for $20, please respond to this email. We will take orders and distribute your hat at the Poco meet this Thursday!

VOLUNTEERS

CITY SWIM MEET

If you haven’t already, please RSVP for the City Swim Meet right away! We are really hoping for a great SYC turnout this year. The City Swim Meet results from the prior year determine how the teams are split into leagues for the next summer (it is not based on team size, contrary to popular belief). We would love to have a City Swim Meet commitment from as many of our swimmers as possible! The City Swim Meet is fun, exciting, and gives your swimmers a chance to show off how hard they’ve been working all summer long!
