SYC Swim Team - Week 9
Good evening!
We hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. Here we are - week nine - the final week of the 2025 summer swim season! This week is the final week of practice, plus it is a jam-packed week of fun with spirit week, our banquet, and the City Swim Meet!
PREP TEAM
Congrats to our youngest team members on a fantastic summer season! Prep practices came to a close on Friday, ending “Spirit Week” for our prep swimmers, which included fun crafts, activities, and games during our last week of prep practice. We hope you will join us at the banquet this Thursday. Please see below (and attached) for more information.
SWIMMERS OF THE WEEK
This week we’re proud to recognize Theo Marcuccilli, Grant Kellam, Austin Wiley, and Sophia Nimmo for their hard work, dedication, and positive attitudes! They have all shown great improvement in practice and meets. Whether it’s mastering a new stroke technique, beating a personal best, or supporting teammates, these swimmers exemplify the true spirit of our team. Keep up the good work! #GoSYC
SWIM-A-THON
Thank you to everyone who joined us for the 2025 SYC Swim Team Swim-a-Thon. We had a great turn out of swimmers (from both Big and Prep teams) who participated in the fun! Our individual winners who raised the most money in their age groups were: Theo Marcuccilli (8 and under), Emmett Hyndman (9-10), Ella Gildea (11-12), Peter Moore (13-14), and Justin Moore (15 and up). Of all the practice groups, White group raised the most money, and they were rewarded by getting to throw pies in the faces of our good-spirited coaches! In total, we raised $3,425 to put toward new equipment for next season! Thank you to all of our participants, our coaches, and our families!
BANQUET
We hope you will be joining us for our banquet this Thursday, July 31st from 6:00-8:00pm at the Sycamore Hills Swim & Racquet Club (Adult Pool). All SYC swimmers and their families (both Big team and Prep team) are encouraged to attend! Since there are not enough chairs at the Adult Pool for everyone, please bring chairs for your family if you are able. Awards will be given to each swimmer and a fun time is sure to be had by all. This year, dinner will be catered by Ziano’s (please bring your own drink), and the Kona Ice truck will be in the circle drive at the end of the banquet. All swimmers will receive a free Kona Ice provided by the SYC Swim Team.

We will have activities/crafts every day and dress-up themes for each day this week.
Monday - Patriotic
