Good afternoon!

Welcome to week 4 of our summer swim season! The board has a few important reminders for the upcoming week.

GENERAL

By now, you should have RSVPd your swimmer for ALL upcoming meets on our website. If your family's schedule changes, please make updates to your RSVPs one week in advance of our swim meets. Coach Shelby works very hard to place swimmers in events and often these entries are due to the other teams far in advance of the meet. We will not be able to make exceptions for late adds if you have not RSVPd your swimmer for upcoming meets. Additionally, please be considerate in making changes in advance because scratches (late cancellations or no-shows) make it very hard on our coaches, especially if your swimmer is entered into relay events.

If anyone is in need of a size 24 boys swim suit (speedo style), please contact Rachael. We have a swim family who ordered the wrong size and has a new suit for sale.

VOLUNTEERS

As we discussed at the parent meeting, Sycamore is responsible for all aspects of the concession stand for both weekends this year, including providing all food, drinks, and volunteers! We need your help! This responsibility rotates through each FWSSDL team in alphabetical order, so we will not have this fundraising opportunity for several more years. Thank you to Elise Chadwick and Danielle Teel for volunteering to lead the organization of the concession stand. Please reach out to us if you have any questions or would like to help.

SWIM MEETS

Home Swim Meet (re-cap) - New Haven on June 13th

Congratulations to all of our swimmers for a wonderful home meet last Thursday! Results were posted on the bulletin board at the pool on Friday morning and were also emailed on Friday. A special shout out to Sycamore's Owen Lindsay, who broke the long-standing men's 15 and up 100 IM record with a time of 1:00.62!

Pete Johnston Memorial Swim Meet (re-cap) at Blackhawk on June 22nd

Sycamore had some really great swims at this hot, sunny meet on Saturday! Good job to our 11 and older boys and girls who participated in a fun meet including some mixed relays. Results are attached to this email.

Home Swim Meet (upcoming) - Columbia City on June 27th

We will host Columbia City this coming Thursday. As a reminder, all home meets begin at 6:00pm. Swimmers need to arrive at 4:45pm for warm-ups. You will be notified which events your child is swimming in prior to the meet. If possible, please write their events on their arm before they come to the pool on Thursday evening. If your swimmer needs help with this, please let a coach know when you arrive for warm-ups.

Leigh Ann Palmer Memorial Swim Meet (upcoming) - at Orchard Ridge on June 29th

This meet is for ages 10 and under. Please look forward to more information to come later this week as we receive details from ORCC. We are still in need of volunteers! Please sign up on our website. Thank you!
