What a wonderful start to the 2024 summer swim season! Week 1 was fantastic, and we are looking forward to week 2!

We wanted to remind you of some important details as our summer season is already underway.

EVALUATIONS

If your swimmer was absent the first week of practice, they can still be evaluated on the first day they attend practice. Please let a coach know when they arrive that they need to be evaluated.

PICTURE DAY

Please remember that picture day is this Friday, June 14th from 9:30-11:00am. Varsity Photo will be poolside to take individual photos starting at 9:30am. You can come before or after your scheduled practice, but please stay for the team photo at 11:00am. There is not a make-up picture day. Pictures are taken at the Adult Pool so there is no prep practice that day, but prep swimmers please come for pictures.

SPIRIT WEAR

New this year - all swimmers will receive a 2024 theme shirt included with their registration. If you registered by May 27th, your shirt will be distributed to you early this week. If you registered after May 27th, please look out for the next round of orders to come in.

VOLUNTEERS

Thank you to those of you who have already signed up for volunteer jobs on our website! There are many volunteer opportunities at each of our swim meets - home and away! If you haven’t already, please visit our website to sign up: https://sycaquatics.swimtopia.com/swim_meets

In addition to volunteers (starters, timers, officials, awards, etc.) needed to run each swim meet, we are looking for non-board member volunteers to specifically help with various other duties throughout the season. Thank you to those of you who have recently filled a few of our open chair or committee member positions. We appreciate you! There are a couple of more openings for this summer listed below.

*Posted chair positions will receive a $50 discount on annual swim team fees. Posted committee member positions will receive a $25 discount on annual swim team fees.

Fundraising Chair – work with the President and Board to coordinate all swim team fundraising activities with the master calendar and communicate these activities to the swim team members. Duties will include the seeking of corporate sponsors, coordinating the annual swim-a-thon, and continuing to be creative and strive for new fundraising ideas. POSITION OPEN

City Swim Meet Events Committee Members – shall assist the Event Director and Board in the coordination of city swim-related events, including the pancake breakfast and post-finals pizza party. POSITION OPEN

Home Swim Meet - FWCC on June 13th

Our first meet is already coming up this Thursday! We thank you for RSVPing your swimmers through our website. Our coaches are working hard entering them into events! As a reminder, all home meets begin at 6:00pm. Swimmers need to arrive at 4:45pm for warm-ups. You will be notified which events your child is swimming prior to the meeting. If possible, please write their events on their arm before they come to the pool on Thursday evening. If your swimmer needs help with this, please let a coach know when you arrive for warm-ups.
