We wanted to remind you of some important details as our summer season officially kicks off tomorrow.

EVALUATIONS

Evaluations were held last Thursday and Friday. Because the big pool was closed on Friday due to maintenance issues beyond our control, there may need to be some adjustments to practice groups, but the coaches will do this as soon as possible! We appreciate your understanding.

A roster was emailed on Friday afternoon, which indicated which practice group your child should attend starting tomorrow, Monday, June 3rd. If your swimmer was not able to attend either evaluation date, they can be evaluated on the first day they attend practice. Please let a coach know when they arrive that they need to be evaluated.

PARENT MEETING

We will host a parent meeting on Tuesday, June 4th at 7:00pm at the Sycamore Hills Swim & Racquet Club. We will go over our new online process for committing to swim meets, among other important items. This is also a great opportunity to ask questions and get involved in volunteering opportunities for the season.

PICTURE DAY

Please mark your calendars for picture day on Friday, June 14th from 9:30-11:00am. Varsity Photo will be poolside to take individual photos starting at 9:30am. You can come before or after your scheduled practice, but please stay for the team photo at 11:00am. There is not a make-up picture day. Pictures are taken at the Adult Pool so there is no prep practice that day, but prep swimmers please come for pictures.

TEAM SUITS

SPIRIT WEAR

New this year - all swimmers who register by May 27th will receive a 2024 theme shirt included with their registration. Order additional spirit wear from Team Mantra and it will be delivered to the pool for pick up. VOLUNTEERS

There will be volunteer opportunities at each of our swim meets - home and away! Please visit our website to sign up: https://sycaquatics.swimtopia.com/swim_meets

In addition to volunteers (starters, timers, officials, awards, etc.) needed to run each swim meet, we are looking for non-board member volunteers to specifically help with various other duties throughout the season. The following are some chair and committee member positions that we hope you will consider.

*Posted chair positions will receive a $50 discount on annual swim team fees. Posted committee member positions will receive a $25 discount on annual swim team fees.

Fundraising Chair – work with the President and Board to coordinate all swim team fundraising activities with the master calendar and communicate these activities to the swim team members. Duties will include the seeking of corporate sponsors, coordinating the annual swim-a-thon, and continuing to be creative and strive for new fundraising ideas. POSITION OPEN

City Swim Meet Events Committee Member– shall assist the Event Director and Board in the coordination of city swim-related events, including the pancake breakfast and post-finals pizza party. POSITION OPEN

City Swim & Dive Meets Concession Stand Chair– this position is specific to the 2024 season, when Sycamore is responsible for running the concession stand at the City Dive Meet AND the City Swim Meet. The Chair will take charge in planning of the concession stand, including food and drinks, as well as coordinating a volunteer schedule.POSITION OPEN

Spirit Week Chair – shall work with the Event Director and Board to lead all spirit week activities during the last week of the season. POSITION FILLED

Spirit Week Committee Member – shall assist the Spirit Week Chair in coordination of all spirit week activities during the last week of the season. POSITIONS FILLED

Banquet Committee Member– shall assist the Event Director and Board in the coordination of the end-of-season banquet. POSITION FILLED
